Continuous freedom comes from exposing our sin (Eph 5:11) by confessing our sin (1 John 1:9) and renouncing our association with sin (Titus 2:11-12) and repenting (2 Pet 3:9) of our sin and continually submitting to God and resisting (James 4:7) further temptations to sin and diligently standing firm (Gal 5:1, Eph 6:14) in our new freedom.      Visit: Freedom-Courses.org

Our Primary Motive

Like Jesus, our primary motive in life should always be to please our heavenly Father.

28 Then Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and I do nothing on my own initiative, but I speak just what the Father taught me. 29 And the one who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, because I always do those things that please him.” (John 8:28-29 NET)

Reconciliation Ministry

Ours is a Ministry and a Message of Reconciliation.

18 And all these things are from God who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and who has given us the ministry of reconciliation. 19 In other words, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting people’s trespasses against them, and he has given us the message of reconciliation. (2 Cor 5:18-19 NET)

This includes ongoing reconciliation and sanctification of born again believers!

Jesus, Bring Us to the Father

Jesus replied, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 NET)

Jesus, Reveal the Father to Us

All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son decides to reveal him. (Matt 11:27 NET)

Steps On How To Accept And Believe In Jesus Christ

1. Admit that you are a sinner and that you need God’s help

Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;“

Romans 5:12 – “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed  upon all men, for that all have sinned:

1 John 1:10 – “If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”

2. Be willing to change your mind and turn from your sin through a sincere repentance

In Luke 13:5, Jesus said, “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”

2 Corinthians 7:9-10 9 Now I rejoice, not because you were made sad, but because you were made sad to the point of repentance. For you were made sad as God intended, so that you were not harmed in any way by us. 10 For sadness as intended by God produces a repentance that leads to salvation, leaving no regret, but worldly sadness brings about death.

3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead

John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Romans 5:8 – “But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us.”

Romans 10:9 – “If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

4. Make a prayer to invite Jesus into your heart to become your personal Lord and Savior

Romans 10:10 – “For with the heart (core being) man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Romans 10:13 – “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.“

John 1:12 – “But as many as received him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:“

2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

When you pray and invite Jesus into your life, believe that he has heard your prayer and is in your life as Lord and Savior. Also pray that He fills you with the Holy Spirit that will lead you into the Truth about Him and His Father.

We are to grow up in all aspects into Him. (Ephesians 4:15). It was for freedom that Christ set us free. (Galatians 5:1)

There are two concepts that determine the victory and fruitfulness of a Christian. The first concept is maturity. Paul wrote: "We are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, even Christ to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ" (Ephesians 4:15,13). God has given us everything we need to grow to maturity in Christ (2 Peter 1:3). But Satan is opposed to our maturity and will do anything he can to keep us from realizing who we are and what we have in Christ. We must experience victory over the dark side before we can fully mature.

The second concept of the successful Christian life is freedom. Paul declared: "It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery" (Galatians 5:1). This verse not only assures us that God wants us free, but also warns us that we can lose our freedom by returning to the law.

Before we received Christ, we were slaves to sin. But because of Christ's work on the cross, sin's power over us has been broken. Satan has no right of ownership or authority over us. He is a defeated foe, but he is committed to keeping us from realizing that. He knows he can block your effectiveness as a Christian if he can deceive you into believing that you are nothing but a product of your past, subject to sin, prone to failure, and controlled by your habits. As long as he can confuse you and blind you with his dark lies, you won't be able to see that the chains which once bound you are broken. You are free in Christ, but if the devil can deceive you into believing you're not, you won't experience the freedom which is your inheritance. I don't believe in instant maturity, but I do believe in instant freedom, and I have seen thousands of people set free by the truth. Once a person is free, you would be amazed at how quickly he or she matures!

Lord, I rejoice that it was for my freedom that You came to set me free. Remind me today to walk in Your freedom.

Restoring Freedom to God's Children

We help fellow Christians fully realize their glorious freedom as God's children in Christ Jesus.

...the glorious freedom of God's children (Roman 8:21)

For freedom Christ has set us free. (Galatians 5:1)

The Steps to Freedom in Christ is a practical application of Hebrews 12:1-2 (ESV)

“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God”.

Every born again Christian is a child of God. (John 1:12, 1 John 3:1)
You are an heir of God and fellow heir with Christ. (Romans 8:17)
You are an heir of the kingdom of God. (James 2:5)

You are accepted, secure and significant in Christ.

God offers us complete spiritual freedom.  Our responsibility is to acknowledge and confess our sin (1 John 1:9) and the lies we have believed (2 Thes 2:7-12) and repent by turning away from our sin (Acts 20:26...), resisting temptations and accusations (James 4:7...) and exposing deceptions by believing the truth (John 8:32...).

True and False Repentance

2 Corinthians 7:9-11
"For sadness as intended by God produces a repentance that leads to salvation, leaving no regret, but worldly sadness brings about death."

We could argue that worldly sorrow/sadness/regret response might be: "Aah you caught me!  I had hoped to keep it hidden."
versus a godly sorrow response which should be more like this:
"Thank you Lord for exposing my sin and it saddens me deeply when I realize how much it actually hurts me, the person or persons involved and most importantly You who actually died a horrible death so my sins would not be counted against me.  I choose right here and now to take responsibility for my sin and I choose to stop this sin which has caused a strain, even a degree of spiritual death and separation, in our relationship."

Responsibility Quote of the Day

Obtaining Freedom is Our Personal Responsibility

Freedom in Christ from our sinful nature and the god of this world is the inheritance of every believer. Christ has set you free through His victory over sin and death on the cross. But if you have lost a measure of your freedom because you have failed to stand firm in the faith or you have disobeyed God, it is your responsibility to do whatever is necessary to maintain a right relationship with God. Your eternal destiny is not at stake; you are secure in Christ. But your daily victory in Him will be tenuous at best if you fail to assume your responsibility to maintain your freedom in Christ. Remember: you are not the helpless victim of a tug-of-war between two nearly equal heavenly superpowers. Compared to Satan's limited attributes, God is immeasurable in His omnipotence, omnipresence and omniscience--and you are united with Him!
