Jesus declared that the "Children's Bread" belongs to God's children - persons who received salvation because they have publicly put their faith, belief and trust (all three can be the translation of the one Greek word "pistis") in Him. We all need to be saved by the grace and gift of God through the finished work of Jesus Christ's death on the cross so that we may be adopted as children into the family of God and so that our sins may be washed away. Have you been saved by the grace of God?
Salvation Starts With LOVE
It all starts (and never ends) with God's love for mankind. Every person has been purposed by God to be His image bearer and He truly wants to have fellowship with each and every person. Relationship is of prime importance with God. But because of free will not every person will choose to live to fulfill God's purpose for themselves. BUT YOU CAN!
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 ESV)
God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Tim 2:4 ESV)
In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. (1 John 4:9 ESV)
The Cross, the Blood and Redemption
First let's look at redemption. Redemption is derived from the word redeem. Redeem is a verb defined as "to buy or pay off; clear by payment". In the case of salvation it means that we are redeemed from a life of separation from God due to our sinful acts and ungodly way of life. Redemption is a noun defined as "1. an act of redeeming or atoning for a fault or mistake, or the state of being redeemed. 2. deliverance; rescue." The redemption price for you and me, which has been paid in full for all mankind, is the death of the only perfect and sinless man, Jesus Christ, on the Cross. And this is a free gift from God to you when you believe in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.
In regards to the Cross and the Blood, God tells us in his Word, the Holy Scriptures, the Bible, that we are redeemed through the death of his son Jesus on the Cross. The scriptures say that the life is in the Blood (Lev 17:11). The Blood shed on the Cross makes peace between us and God (Col 1:19-20) and it cleanses us from all sin if we walk in light (1 John 1:7), no longer hiding our sin from man and God but rather exposing it (Eph 5:11) by confessing our sin (1 John 1:9) and renouncing our sin (Titus 2:11-12) and repenting (2 Pet 3:9) of our sin and continually submitting to God and resisting (James 4:7) further temptations to sin.
Jesus' first public proclamation was:
From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17 ESV)
...Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel [the Good News] of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:14-15 ESV)
And Scripture says this about your salvation:
...as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up [on the cross], 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. (John 3:14-19 ESV)
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. (Romans 10:9-10 ESV)
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” (Acts 16:31 ESV)
